Burger Balls in Sauce

Long before I learned you could buy pre-made meatballs and use grape jelly and cocktail sauce for the sauce, these meatballs were a family staple. These are, hands down, the best meatballs ever!



2 pounds ground beef

1 cup rolled oats (can use gluten-free)

3 Tablespoons minced onion

1 cup milk

1 1/2 teaspoon salt

Dash of pepper



2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

3 Tablespoons vinegar (apple cider)

2 Tablespoons brown sugar

1 cup catsup

3 Tablespoons minced onion

1 cup water


Method: Mix first set of ingredients for the meatballs. Shape into 1-inch Balls. Brown in a skillet with canola oil or fat of choice then place into a baking dish. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. 


As much as I love cooking tasty plant-filled dishes, I also love cooking traditional meals for my family. Tonight’s menu would have been a regular week-night meal in my home growing up, minus the dessert.
