4 cups wheat Chex
1 cup chopped cashews (or nuts of choice)
3 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup raisins (or dried fruit of choice)
1/2 cup dried apples (or dried fruit of choice)
Method: Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Combine cereal and nuts in a large bowl. Melt butter in small saucepan. Add brown sugar and cinnamon to butter, whisking well. Pour melted butter over cereal and nuts, stirring gently to coat. Place onto large rimmed baking sheet.
Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely. Stir in dried fruit. Store in airtight container up to five days.
