Creamy Turmeric Smoothie

My almost-daily breakfast

 

Ingredients:

3/4 to 1 cup frozen mango chunks 

(Can use frozen banana or half mango half banana)

1 inch fresh turmeric root (I keep in freezer for daily use) OR 1 teaspoon ground turmeric 

1/4 inch fresh ginger root OR 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper or pepper flakes

1 Tablespoon ground flax meal OR chia seeds

1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup to taste

2/3 cup or so unsweetened coconut milk 

 

Method: Mix all ingredients in smoothie machine or blender. Add enough water to thin to your liking. 

 

***The health benefits of turmeric are amazing! I do not peel the turmeric or ginger root, just give them a quick wash before throwing into the smoothie mixture.
